But it is the same every time in Germany all Anime , Games , DVD's and and and is cut or Prohibited

Cat's eye and City Hunter 1 and 2 came in the German Pay TV once and now they say it is too dangerously for children ( but 1000 000 times Pokemon etc sends ) or trash TV how Big Brother or the stupid soccer

The only thing what is allowed in Germany  it is to be worked and to pay taxes :evil:

I only look in the German TV  Anime how D.Conan , one Piece or Inuyasha and otherwise I play games (Playstation.2 , X-Box , Gamecube , PC ) or see US DVD's

Germany is afraid that something happens ( A student goes with the weapon of his father into the school and shoots somebody or similar  )

German Poletik thinks if we see no Danger  in the TV or in games then, there are no crimes in Germany :roll:

Germany thinks each criminal, has a problem with psychology because it has seen dangerous games or TV as child

 he could not distinguish between reality and Fiction :?

also a problem is that German TV send Anime about 14.00 - 16.00 pm where all children can look

why doesn't send in the evening ??? (because Germany thinks Anime = Cartoon = only for Kids )

and then they see one time a " harder " Anime in the TV (not Hentai ) but with some blood etc and immediately parents call the tv station and demands that their children not this must see (I also remind that this Anime  never for children was thought )

only because them cannot believe that it also Anime for Adults gives in Japan (look on the German CH Manga they are all with the hint ADULT )

because Germany thinks  Anime = Cartoon = only for Kids  ( how Micky mouse , Asterix or Lucky Luke )

Well, it has been the same thing in France for a very long time, but fortunately, it seems that mentality has started to change these days. Hope it's going to be the same thing in Germany very soon...

I remarke that "Suggested +15" on the back of US DVD, it's joke ? USA it's still the weapon country, isn't it ?  :lol:

it was the "night thought" ...

In France we've got a "all public" version, but it's a censored version, thanks to AB production and Italia :wink:

I know all 140 Episodes and all 6 Movies by heart :D  (I have already so often seen them ) on US DVD

the good is that the US DVD's from the Series and the Movies are  completely uncut :wink: and with the right names ( Ryo/Kaori not Nicky/Laura)

I know you in France has Services Secrets , Goodbye My Sweetheart and Live on stage on France DVD

(http://angeluscity.free.fr/cityhunter/dvd/france/CH_DVD_Film03_06_01.jpg)

(http://angeluscity.free.fr/cityhunter/dvd/france/CH_DVD_Film03_07_01.jpg)

(http://angeluscity.free.fr/cityhunter/dvd/france/CH_DVD_Film03_08_01.jpg)

Services Secrets and Goodbye My Sweetheart with Japan and France Language but Live on Stage only Jap Language with France Sup.

The Italy DVD Version from Live on Stage has Japan and Italy Language

but a question what likes you more the real Movie with J.Chan or Mr Mumble ???

(http://angeluscity.free.fr/cityhunter/dvd/france/CH_DVD_Film03_05_01.jpg)

I find Mr Mumble much better than the J.Chan Movie   :roll:

you know why france changed the names from Ryo/Kaori to Nicky/Laura ???  :roll:

I agree, Mr Mumble is closer to CH in terms of characters portrayal. The Jacky Chan movie was just a laughable one.

For your question : it's been a habit in France in the late 80's to give characters french or at least western names. The purpose of that was clearly to give children (the main audience) a way to identify themselves more easily with the characters.

They did the same with Cat's Eye by giving characters and places non-japanese names. I think the worst they did was to refer to the Tokyo Tower as the "Eiffel Tower"... it's just pitiful :(

That was equally in Germany  :(

 Germany changed Ai from Cat's eye to Love  and Rui to Nami  :roll:

Japan = Ai , Germany = Love

(http://accatseye.free.fr/animepersonnages/Perso3.jpg)

Japan = Rui , Germany = Nami

(http://accatseye.free.fr/animepersonnages/Perso2.jpg)

Japan = Hitomi , Rui , Ai

Germany = Hitomi , Nami , Love

Japan = Rui , Ai
Germany = Nami , Love

Different names, yes, but their meanings are kept :
- Nami is a short for Namida (another reading of Rui's kanji 泪 which means "tear")
- Love is the direct translation of "Ai"

French names are : Sylia, Tam, Alex & Quentin (Rui, Hitomi, Ai & Toshio). As you can see : no connection at all :shock:

Thanks !!  :D I didn't know that  :shock:

their names are in Italy : Sheila (Hitomi) , Kelly (Rui) , Tati (Ai)

now, I understand (better) in the Episode in the Rui at the start the sexy blue dress carries say her to the man (in the German version) my Name is Nami but everyone names me tear because I have no luck with men

and he says is named tear because she men to the cries brings (Yes she is a beauty  :wink:  )
